Seattle is just killin April.  Last weekend Hannah and i biked out to the Redhook Brewery. you start on the Burke Gillman on the west side of lake Washington, after about 8 miles (?) you switch over to the Sammamish River Trail, which takes you along the north side of lake Wash and then down the East side to Woodinville, location of the Redhook Brewery.  All along the Sammamish trail are these trees, used as a buffer between the trail and farm land.  They grow tall and straight and create a visually stunning 'fence'.

Normally, we'd turn around and retrace our steps back to the house, but this time, we decided to continue along the east side of the lake, cross mercer island and then approach our house from the south..

what a weekend

worked in the backyard all day yesterday.  Sunburned but totally worth it.  Planted some more lettuce, swiss chard, a whole plot of carrots, and the flowers mama D sent.  Put up a bunch of fences around all our different beds so that the chickens can roam without digging up the gardens...

Washed the windows and the screens - then went on a Hash Harriers run (?).  We ran through the Arb and followed flags to stashes of hidden beer :) then hungout on the abandoned on ramp over 520.  great times.  Lots of Carleton people, i ended up there through Curry.

Adult loaded questions to finish off the evening.

Strong coffe

Ha - so i made coffee in the office, for maybe the 4th time.  I'm not good at approximating how many beans to put in compared to the amount of water i'm putting in.  Long story short, i made reallllly weak coffee.  Since i was the only person in that early, i decided to remake the pot, but there's no sense in wasting perfectly good watery coffee.  So i poured the watery coffee back into the coffee maker and replaced the beans,  Making coffee with coffee!!!


I'm sure someone else has done this before - but if not - i'm officially naming the product from this procedure - crackcoffee. which i am now on.


The garden is starting to sprout! - nothing too spectacular yet, but i'm still amazed that things grow from seeds...
